Workshops
We offer a full day of workshops on the first day of the conference.
Tickets to workshops sold separately.
Robert Nagy - Node Streams a Practical Guide
(8h Workshop)
A deep dive into usage of Node streams. Challenging participants to write correct streams code with focus on common pitfalls and edge cases. After this workshop you should have deeper understanding of Node streams and various stream utilities, why they exists and how they help writing correct and maintainable code.
Participants should have some previous familiarity with Node streams as well as GitHub.
Yoni Goldberg - Node.js Testing - Beyond The Basics
(8h Workshop)
A very deep dive into writing real-world and modern backend testing. Most testing guides focus on testing functions and units. In their daily routine though, developers are challenged with covering all the layers of their components – DB, APIs, MQ, 3rd parties – not just logic functions. For this good reason, the ‘testing diamond’ model is getting super popular as it advocates writing tests that mitigate all the risks. This workshop is all about writing these tests in the RIGHT way: Go through best practices for coding clean tests, learn meta-models that help with significant testing decisions, and practicing with live exercises
Prerequisite: Participants are assumed to have Node.js experience and basic unit tests knowledge. If you have no experience with testing at all, it’s imperative to watch the include course ‘Testing Basics’ before attending the workshop
Bonus: Participants of this workshop will get access to my online 6 hours testing course + 2 hours online testing practice session
No workshops this year...
Stay tuned for 2022!
